Exercising together as a family can be one of the most rewarding ways to spend time with each other. The benefits include better health and weight as well as a stronger family bond.

 

Spending time together as a family should be a priority. Parents who spend more time with their kids are more likely to have kids who stay out of trouble. Not only that, it makes memories that last a lifetime. Not only can it help a family build better relationships, it can lead to better health. There are many options available for families to do together. By exercising as a family it helps develop good habits early that can last a lifetime.

 

Telling kids to “go out and play” doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily get the exercise they need. Pursuing fitness and an active lifestyle as a family, however, shows your child how much you value exercise and fitness, as well as learning new things.

 

Create a schedule. Many families are over worked and over booked, so making a special "family night" to exercise is very important. As you begin to get into the routine of exercising once a week, you can slowly build up to a few times a week, and eventually once a day.
